JODY FREELAND
Pastel Artist
Jody has been interested in art all her life. She believes that God
has given her a gift and her artwork is a reflection of his majesty. “His
creation shouts from every mountaintop, tree, rock, cloud and river. I
want to glorify Him in my artwork.”
Jody was born in Hackensack, N.J. At a young age, her family moved to
Colorado Springs where she attended Palmer High School. At the urging
of her art teacher she pursued an art degree at Adams State College. After
college she began to work with oils and watercolors. It wasn’t until
she took an art class from nationally-known pastel artist Becky Johnson
that she found the medium that she works with today. Her mentor and encourager
has been her father Hans Ressdorf, who is a nationally-known impressionist.
Jody has been commissioned to paint personal pets for people and murals for various businesses. Her work can be seen at Margo's on the Alley in Monument, Colorado.
